Skin Care

Therapeutic chemicals used in cosmetics belong to a special groupcream-194126 of cosmetic actives that enhance and improve skin function and appearance. The most common of such products are acne creams (benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, salicylic acid), anti-wrinkle creams (alpha hydroxyl acid, retinol, hexapeptide), pore cleansers (salicylic acid), skin-whitening creams (hydroquinone and arbutin), and anti-irritant creams (allantoin and zinc oxide). These products are skin therapeutic cosmetics and are sold as OTC drugs for skin care. AAL’s cosmetic lab has validated methods for analysis of the active compounds of skin therapeutic products. The chromatographic methods for assay are utilized for automated HPLC and HPGC.
